  • Fragrance of baker’s chocolate, marshmallow aroma, complex flavors of dark chocolate, browned butter, grape, and oranges with an aftertaste of chardonnay and ripe melon that melts in your mouth. Medium malic acidity of green apples and a heavy body with that buttery mouthfeel. Delicious.
  • Armando’s coffee tastes amazing just about every which way. At light roasts those delicate flavors and aftertaste are maintained while at medium roasts the chocolates and dark fruits come forward, still maintaining that buttery mouthfeel. Darker roasts will mute much of the nuance but you are sure for a sweet cup!

The land receives 60-70 inches of water every year, and has a natural water spring on the small 2 hectare farm located in the Sierra de los Cuchmatanes.

A Guatemalan that sticks with me

I’m a big fan of Guatemalan coffees. The interplay between the fruit forward aspect of this one held up with the heavier body, dark chocolate pleasant bittering, and balanced acidity make this one stand out to my palate in a region I already love. Thanks Hacea and the Gomez family for this gem!

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback, Timothy. We are big fans of the coffees that Armando and his family produce every year!

The tide that brought me back to washed process

Really loving all the nuance this coffee has. Exploring the difference and beauty of terroir and varietal at play here.

Yes! Nothing like a high altitude washed coffee.... delicious.
