  • Fragrance and aroma of mixed berries, notes of strawberry and baker’s chocolate with a sweet aftertaste of yogurt, mandarin orange and pomegranate. Bright and complex acidity showing malic, citric and pleasant acetic character. Creamy mouthfeel and medium-heavy body. Well balanced and delicious!
  • Versatile from light to medium-dark. At light roasts the berry and yogurt notes shine (about 100-105 Agtron). Medium-dark roasts will bring out the syrupy mouthfeel and mute the tart acidity while maintaining fruit notes (about 75-65 Agtron).


In the natural process, cherries are floated in water as a quality check to remove “floaters” and then spread over raised beds to dry. The coffee is constantly rotated on the beds to ensure even drying, and any under ripe cherries are picked out during the drying process. Drying time for this coffee is approximately 15-18 days depending on the weather.

We are blown away by the cup profile of this coffee! The perfect growing conditions, and attention to detail from the organic cultivation and picking to the processing, all come together to produce a beautifully unique cup.

My most fav beans so far

I first tried these beans from a NorCal roaster and fell in love with the smooth flavor. Finally started roasting and had my first batch today! I am hooked. I was able to create a light roast (slightly towards medium).

Classic well balanced Ethiopian

This might not be as berry forward as some of the other lots I’ve gotten from the Nensebo washing station but the descriptions here are accurate. Great coffee dropped right towards the end of first crack!

Agreed, we usually find more berry notes out of the natural processed coffees we buy from Yirgacheffe and Guji but this coffee from Nensebo has been a crowd favorite for a few years now.

Very nice offering! Unlike many coffees with the wacky descriptors from over imaginative cuppers, this one has many of the ones listed and are easily discernible. I was able to get a very nice light roast with lots of complexity in a short 8 minute fluidbed (hot air) roast.
