  • Brown sugar and hazelnut in fragrance and aroma. Notes of milk chocolate, hazelnut, nougat, caramel, very mild orange acidity, creamy body, clean and sweet aftertaste of dulce de leche, well balanced.
  • Like many natural processed Brazilian coffee, low and slow is our preferred approach with Luzia. The coffee tastes best when sweetness and body are accentuated by a longer roast with higher end temperatures. We find a solid medium roast to be the perfect fit for this coffee, although we have been enjoying its clean and sweet aftertaste on light cupping roasts. Excellent for espresso or adding into blends. Check out our Roast Approach on this coffee here.

This coffee has been a staple of our program for 4 years, always consistent, roasts beautifully, makes for an amazing component for an espresso blend.

Great beans, Great service

Ordered several kg of Brazil Minas Gerais Luzia Natural to start my roasting experience.
Easy ordering, quick shipping, and professionally packaged.
The roast profiles on the web site really helped to get this bean dialed-in to be my daily morning espresso.
Only wish there was more as it is sold-out.

Thanks for taking time to share your review, Jim.

We are sad to have the Luzia profile sold out but we have fresh crop on its way! We should have it available on our website in the second half of February.

Have grown to love this coffee

You might have seen my rating of 3 stars awhile back. I spoke too soon. After a half dozen small roasts I have it dialed in and really look forward to every cup from my Aeropress. I roast it light (but not too light) and start drinking it at day 7 or later. It gets better with age. Solid every day cup!

Hey Bill, thanks for taking the time to update your review!

Really glad that this coffee is hitting the every-day-profile for you. We also used this coffee in our recent Roasting Championship so we got to taste ~70 different variations on it. The best roasts were very smooth, sweet and had a nice nougat note to them.

A phenomenal cup of coffee. This bean is everything I think if when it comes to espresso. Great from light to dark roast levels. Heavy and creamy body very delicious.
