  • Fragrance and aroma of chocolate and cherry with up front flavors or black currant and dark chocolate with lemon noted in aftertaste. Bright citric acidity and a medium-heavy body with creamy mouthfeel.
  • Swiss Water processed decaffeinated coffees will lose their moisture more easily at the beginning of a roast. Use a gentle approach at the early stages of the roast to retain moisture needed for chemical reactions later in the roasting process. Longer development times will bring forward more sweetness in the coffee, while a short development time will accentuate the coffee’s complex and bright acidity. check out this roasting guide provided by Swiss Water Decaf.

The Kenya Nyeri Mutheka Kigwandi AB coffee comes from a cooperative society encompassing seven factories and nearly 5,000 smallholder farmers. Within this group, the Kigwandi Factory represents 842 producers, each tending around 200 coffee trees. Together, they make decisions and share profits cooperatively, ensuring a more equitable system for all members.

The second component of the blend hails from the Rukira Factory, established in 1979 and part of the Othaya Farmers Cooperative Society. This cooperative includes 800 members, around 600 of whom actively farm coffee, contributing roughly 30 kilograms per harvest. Like the Kigwandi producers, decisions at Othaya are made collectively. The society represents over 19 factories and more than 14,000 farmers, making it one of the largest and most influential grower organizations in Kenya.
